First Birthday!

My sweet little boy is one year old today. One whole year. A year ago today he could only kick himself out of the womb and suck. Now he can walk and dance and take his diaper off and hold a pin wheel and bask in all the love that surrounded him today. But he can't understand yet that he's the real gift.

Bowling Videos

I just uploaded a couple of new videos, which should pop up in the Recent Videos section any minute. Watch them if you can because I'm not sure if You Tube will allow them to stay up since they have a small amount of sensitive content. A very small amount. In fact, it's hard to see, but Matthew is diaper-free in both of them, so he's pretty busy even when he's not playing, if you know what I mean. Still, his laughter in them was just too precious not to post them. We're playing, "Don't Knock Over the Bowling Pins". He loses every time!

Playground

We had a busy weekend. We spent much of Friday hanging out at the house while Jeff worked on his plane (radio controlled) and I worked preparing food for Saturday's adventures to the North Shore. In the afternoon, we went to a playground near Jeff's hobby shop.

On Saturday, we headed up to La'ie to see our friends at the campground where they spent the weekend. Jeff and I don't really understand camping near one's home - or a perfectly good hotel - but it was nice to hang out with them for a while. Words cannot describe how dirty Matthew was when it was time to leave. He looked like a chimney sweep. Sorry, we don't have any pictures of that. We were too busy trying to keep him from eating the sand.

Now we're looking forward to visits from Jeff's parents and mine, and for Matthew's big birthday bash on Saturday. I'll try to keep up with posts while they're here.

New Video

There's a new video in the queue called Matthew has a ball. Our video camera broke a couple of weeks ago, so that's why we haven't been capturing many of Matthew's first steps. Luckily, I figured out how to use the video feature on the fancy digital camera I bought to record the baby's first year. I hope you like the results!
